Secretary Jody Gonzalez, Place 6

Jody Gonzalez was elected to the Aubrey ISD School Board of Trustees in 2015. He currently serves as board secretary. 

Mr. Gonzalez served as vice president from 2020 to 2021.

He has worked for over 25 years at the Denton County Emergency Services as the director, fire marshall and emergency management coordinator. Prior to that, he was the commissioner and assistant presiding officer for Texas Commission on Fire Protection. He was appointed by Texas governor Rick Perry in 2006.

He and his wife, Jenny, have three children that attend Aubrey ISD schools. His wife graduated from the Aubrey ISD school system.

Mr. Gonzalez is on the board of directors for the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Association. He has served as president of the Texas Fire Marshals Association and the Aubrey Area Youth Sports Association. He is a volunteer coach for AAYSA Youth Football and is on the Fire and EMS Advisory Board for North Central Texas College.

Mr. Gonzalez received his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University. He has professional certificates for firefighter, fire instructor, police instructor, FAA private pilot, marine safety enforcement officer, emergency management and rescue diver.

Mr. Gonzalez's current term on the board started in May of 2023 and will expire in May of 2026.
