At the regularly scheduled board meeting on Dec. 20, 2023, the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Danny Barrentine as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Student Services and Melissa Cota as Assistant Principal of Monaco Elementary School.
Danny Barrentine - Aubrey ISD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Student Services
Barrentine holds a Master of Education degree in Education Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Arts in History/Political Science from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. His most recent role in Aubrey ISD was as Director of Human Resources and Executive Director of the Aubrey Education Foundation. Barrentine's prior experiences include secondary principal, assistant principal and educator roles in Frisco ISD.
Melissa Cota - Monaco Elementary School Assistant Principal
Cota holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas. Cota's prior experiences include elementary principal, assistant principal and teacher roles in Little Elm, Aubrey, Decatur and Paradise ISDs.
